Hi, Thanks for your post and query.
You can apply under HSMP from India and you can apply directly, if you wish.
The first step to take is to check if you qualify by visiting HSMP Points Calculator available at:
http://www.hsmp-services.co.uk/points_calc/hsmp_points_calculator.php
The HSMP Application Fees payable to the Home Office is 150 Pounds and once you get HSMP approval, you will need to apply for Entry Clearance / Visa locally in India. At that time you will need to pay Visa Fees equivalent to 75 Pounds per person (for you as well as dependents). Add to this the Courier Costs for sending your documents to Home Office UK. If you are concerned about safe return of your documents, you may make arrangements of return of your documents by courier.
However, if you feel that professional services from Immigration Advisor or Lawyer will help you in better presentation of your HSMP application, you should be prepared for fees ranging from 500 to 1000 pounds. If you decide to engage the Immigration Advisor, make sure you make the right decision.

Is there any way for the safety of original documents, like using Notarised Documents for the application instead of the Originals.
Is it possible and allowed?.
Secondly what is the difference between applying directly and applying through a professional services from Immigration Advisor or Lawyer.
What are the advantages and disadvantages? The cost of these professionals is too high infront of the fees.

I got an approval under HSMP last year and got my entry clearance etc. However, due to some reasons, I could not go to the UK within the 1 year stamped on my passport.
What is my status under the HSMP? Can I again go and get my visa stamped for another one year? Or do I need to reapply for the HSMP approval? I would like to mention here that I still fulfill all the criteria under HSMP and would easily be eligible for the minimum points.

In my opinion, you should contact HSMP Team at the Home Office, UK and ask them for the permission to get the Entry Clearance stamped again. Please give them all the details about why you could not go and provide documentary evidence, if possible.
Once you have Home Office Approval, you should approach British High Commission or UK Embassy in your country to get the Visa stamped.
If they do not agree to this, you may have to consider applying again
I already applied UK Immigration under HSMP in the month of June but till date not received any answer from the HSMP Office. I think HSMP office should send a application no. to the applicant so that he/she should know status through that application no. through ONLINE.

HSMP Team was not sending any acknowledgement till 1st November 2004 but now with Changed HSMP application forms which came into effect on 1st November, there is a provision to send the Acknowledgement and Case Number by post or in email.

I have applied for UK work permit under HSMP last year. The application was received at Home Office on August 10, 2004. Besides sevral remiders and lapse of such a long time they didnt communate me with the status of the case. I have no clue to do else. Can anybody guide me please?

I have made an application under the HSMP program and am a manager independently handling a 50 employee company. Yet they have rejected my application for points for graduate level work experience. What do they exactly mean buy graduate level work experience and what do I need to submit. Hope someone can help me with this.

I am a Senior Construction Planner working in Middle East. My regular income and part time income ( Planning consultancy works )cumulatively gives me the points required in the earning category . Can we show our regular and part time joint income for HSMP application to get reqired points. I can produce a bank statement regarding my income flow describing the joint regular + part time income. HSMP Department has taken Decision on 19-02-2007 and despatched the documents on that day itself.I have not yet Received my documents(India)till date.They have despatched thru Airmail and not giving any Tracking Number/Bar Code Number/Airway Bill Number.When I am sending mail, mail is not going and i am getting mailer demon stating that Content Type is not permitted.What to do.Please Suggest.

Dear Folks, I wanted to apply for HSMP. My understanding is as follows as to how HSMP works-
1. You arrive in UK and can stay for 2 years
2. After completing the 2nd year, you need to submit a request for extension for another 2 years
3. After the additional 2nd year is over, you can make an application for Permanent Resident.
To my surprise, a consultant told me that the UK government rejects 80% of the appliacants seeking extension and they are required to return to theri Home country. Is it TRUE....Folks, I need your help on this .....

I was in India before this and was earning 8,00,000 Rs., which is more than the minimum income criteria for HSMP.
But since I am in India for first half of the year and then in the UK for the next half, how will I show my income statement?

Hi,I have few queries regarding application for HSMP :-
1.How much money do I need to show in the saving account.
2.To earn full points in Past Earning the maximum vaue i.e. 7500 GBP doesn't get reflected on pay slips for last 12 months as we all know we do get few things as medical,LTA,& other bonuses which doesn't get reflected on salary slip,how can I show my total earning in that case in order to ascertain full marks.
3.Is Provisional certificate for educational experience OK for HSMP application?In the degree certficate there is a spelling mistake in my name & so far I didn't bother to correct it as my provisional certificate was very much OK to remain employed in India.Now I am planning to apply for HSMP.

I work in London on a work permit. I started working here from August 2007. I have 2 questions:
1. Is it mandatory to provide evidence of previous earnings of all 12 months prior to the date of application or can I even show for less than 12 months.
2. I am a qualified ACCA which also comes up on home office's self assessment tool. Do I need a certificate from ACCA to prove that it is equal to Masters.

I have a query regarding UK HSMP Visa Stamping, my friend had applied for HSMP from UK and received the approal letter in February 2008. He had posted his passport and required documents to Home Office for Visa Stamping in August 2008 in a weeks' time he got the acknowledgement, but still he has not received his passport after Visa Stamping. He had contacted the Home Office 08706067766, they have informed it is still under consideration. It has already passed the waiting time of 14 weeks.
I would like to know how much time will it take to get the passport ?
Is there any possible way to expedite the process by applying for the urgent treatment?
Please let me know if anyone has suggestions or advise.
