Can you post details about the changes to Immigration Rules related to 'Changing or switching Immigration Status While in the UK?
I wish to enquire:
- whether I need to get my qualifications assessed by NARIC before submitting my application,
- whether it is essential to submit original certificates, or attested photocopies will suffice.
Thanks in advance
Hi,
You may not need to get your qualifications validated through NARIC if you have studied for a recognised course / degree from an established university as it would normally be in the NARIC database.
As regards the certificates you MUST submit the originals. Only in cases where you do not have the original or you need original on day to day basis, you should send Notarized Photocopies
We hope this help you
Hi Friend,
Many thanks! Isn't there a risk in sending originals... as they can be lost, misplaced, or damaged? Can notarized photocopies be submitted, with undertaking that originals will be produced when required?
Thanks again..... and have a nice day!
Hi,
IT is better to send the originals and if you are woried about safe return of your documents, please use the courier facility offered by www.hsmp-services.co.uk because in most countries notary expenses are also very high
With regard to the comment about equivalency of qualifications, it often very much depends on the country (and sometimes university) from which you gained the qualification. Certainly there are a number of countries where I know a Masters is only equivalent to a Bachelors, but we have also set precedent where certain stages of professional qualifications can be deemed equivalent to a Bachelors and even a Masters.
With regard to the evidence required for HSMP, it should ideally be original, failing which it should be a notarised copy and in English. The important thing of course is what the evidence actually says! It is NOT the case that you must submit original education certificates as the previous poster stated.
As regards the new forms, they are not a welcome change but instead a revised version of older forms, which of course you would only know if you have been involved in these applications for long enough. Whilst the idea of a confirmation of receipt being issued might seem a good idea, this is really no better than a courier or royal mail confirming delivery - it makes no difference to the process and simply introduces an extra level of administration to the already overworked HSMP Team. Overall, the new forms are no improvement and have probably increased the burden of work on the already busy HSMP Team.

Dear Sir,
I really appreciate the cause for which this site has been developed and processed. I also commend the cause for which we all give our time to understand a concept in a better way.
My query is that does the change in occupation (under which the case is filed)in any way hampers the chances of getting visa?
Thanx in advance for a sincere reply.
Akash
India
Dear Akash,
When you say change in occupation, are you referring to change in occupation after reaching the UK under HSMP or are you referring to change of occupation while your HSMP application is under process?
I think it would helps others to know your queries better if you give clear details.
We have been having problems accessing the http://www.ukhomeoffice.org/ site to download the new HSMP form . Please could you direct us to a site where we can find the forms and download easily. (We have tried several sites ) or better still please send a copy (via attachment )to my mail box. adekunletoks2001@yahoo.com

Guys, many thanks for the information you have provided here. I have a few questions regarding the HSMP program:
1. Should I put my before-tax or after-tax earnings in the section 3 “Past earnings from your work?”
2. What exchange rate should I use to calculate my earnings in GBP, given that I’ve been paid in USD? Can I only use the current rate or historical rates?
3. What evidence should I provide to prove that I can speak English? Would an MBA from a recognized b-school in the US be sufficient? Do I have to take a standardized English test in addition to that? If so, should it be IELTS or TOEFL or something else?
4. What if the university, where I did my bachelor’s, is not in the NARIC database, but the business school, where I got my MBA, is recognized by NARIC? Would it be sufficient if I just provide my MBA and undergrad transcripts and notarized copies of the diplomas, or should I somehow validate my bachelor’s degree with NARIC. If the latter is the case, what should I do to validate my diploma?
5. I am comparing this program to similar programs run by Canadian and Australian officials. My first impression is that this program less competitive compared to the other two. I can easily score the required points and get most of the support documents. The process is fairly straightforward. The processing doesn’t take much time (about 6 months compared to about 4 years in Canada, for instance). My questions in this regard are as follows:
-Where is the catch? Is it that most of the applicants, who can score at least 65 points, fail afterwards? If so, why?
- Do you expect the number of required points and/or the processing time to increase in the near future due to the high demand? For instance, for the Canadian immigration program both the processing time and the number of points have been increasing because of the growing number of applications.
-What are the benefits of hiring an immigration attorney/consultant to help prepare the application and all the other documents? The requirements seem to be fairly straightforward, so my current impression is that there’s no need to hire a third party. Could you please give me your thoughts on this matter? Why should I spend extra money on consultants?
Regards
Nick, Kazakhstan
PS. Happy holidays :)
I will randomly answer some of the questions posted:
IELTS or other evidence for ability with English has, to date, never been requested.
The reason why you should hire a reputable representative, and the reason many applications fail, is the difference between the published hsmp guidance notes and the way the Home Office ACTUALLY assess applications. There is a world of difference between the two and the goalposts are not only constantly changing but each caseworker at the Home Office can use their own judgement in each case. For example, if you send exactly the same case to two different caseworkers you may well get different results. Having said that, a case based on minimum points claimed in education, experience and earnings can be very straightforward, but again it is important to know exactly what the Home Office want to see, instead of what they publish as being what they want to see. You stated that you can easily achieve the required points... many people can, but can you evidence this in a manner acceptable to the Home Office? Long answer but hopefully answers the question.
It is always advisable to get Naric equivalency, as the Home Office no longer subscribe to the database. Having said that, we have obviously compiled a list based on experience in this area and one would hope that any reputable representative would have done the same.
Historical rates of currency exchange can be used but require quite an argument to achieve (the last time I did so took about 6 months of argument). Always better not to have to rely on this. Even when a precedent has been set, this does not mean the Home Office have to take any notice of this.
For hsmp the Home Office are interested in income that has been declared for tax purposes (primarily), therefore gross earnings should be indicated and suitably evidenced.
Hope that helps,
Regards,

Please, I'm having problem downloading the HSMP form. Could you help by downloading and sending to my email account. I'd like to see the contents and then make up my mind on whether to use a Proffessional Immigrant Personnel.
My email address is: dozieud@yahoo.co.uk
If you are considering using professional representation then why would you need the forms? A decent HSMP consultant will do that for you based on the information and evidence that is provided.
I have applied for HSMP from here. I am a cima student . Is it posible to switch in to HSMP from here itself? I have not completed my course. Is it possible to go back to my home country and get the visa stamped from my home country consulate once home office approved my hsmp work permit?
Hello,
I got HSMP Clearance but i am in a quandry whether to take my wife and kid with me or should I go first and then after getting a decent job call them to UK.
Is it possible to migrate to UK without wife because I have claimed points of her qualification.
HI, iam applying from Nigeria. seeking for an exemption or waiver for sending original documents .
Please note the following:
In the event of changing jobs, applying to schools and so on , majority of employers and institution want to sight original douments, and since HSMP application processing takes a while, oppourtunities of jobs or schools may be lost because original documents will then be with the HSMP TEAM, I BELIEVE NOTORISED Copies should be acceptable, may be expensive but at least the originals will be with respective owners.
Using couriers may seem safe in the event of loss consideration but yet not totally safe, my husband and i had an experience when we applied for uk visiting visa's, even though our application was granted avital original office document was not returned, imagine if it was a certificate which is seemingly irrepaceble.
Kindly consider these as i am of the opinion that not considering applications accompanied with copies of credentials or supporting document is premature.
Copies can be verified after the application has been considered and accepted.
since an acceptance does not neccessirily mean the individual has totally qualified, your gudiance notes explains that some other processes are involved at which stages i believe applicant can be invited and original copies sighted.
Also assume all schools indiviuduals apply to require original documents, then applicants will be limited to only one school application at a time which limits his or her chance.
tHink this issue be reconsidered and i will appreciate a response as soon as possible.
My application is due to be sent next week and this issue is of great concern to me. thanks.

I like to leave a little “wisdom” to jolt your into thinking about goals you may have set over the past few years, months and days, after a good blog read.
Not earth shattering by any means, and probably know this, but have you actually practiced it lately?
You know – gnitteS laoG
Jot down a few new ones today or visit a few old ones that would make you a better person, better business person or a better provider or some you haven't been able to keep for some reason or other.
Today’s tidbit…
There is a difference in setting your goals and setting them effectively. Anyone can set a goal, but doing it effectively means that it will actually get done.
There are so many things that you can do to better your life, but if you don't know how to go about it you are stuck.
The following guidelines will help you to set effective goals and help you manage your time in an efficient manner that will cause those goals to become reality.
State each goal as a positive statement
Express your goals in a positive way. That is a key component to setting goals that you can attain.
How often have you been excited to accomplish a goal that didn't even sound good when you brought it up? If you are not comfortable or happy with the goals that you have set, the likelihood of you succeeding is pretty low.
If you want to express your goals in a positive way, you simply have to first think of a goal that puts a smile on your face when you imagine it completed. Why would you want to set a goal that made you frown, cringe or cry?
When you are beginning to set your goals it helps when you are talking about them to others in a manner that states your actions as positives because it will have others seeing it as a positive as well.
That will garner you a great deal more support. In the end, don't we all need a little support when we are trying to do something positive in our lives?
Be precise
Set a precise goal that includes starting dates, times and amounts so that you can properly measure your achievement.
If you do this, you will know exactly when you have achieved the goal, and can take complete satisfaction from having achieved it.
Being precise in setting your goals is no more than setting them with exact details. It is easier this way because then you can follow a step-by-step format. That's all there is to it.
Set priorities
When you have several goals, give each a specific priority. This helps you to avoid feeling overwhelmed by too many goals, and helps to direct your attention to the most important ones and follow each in succession. Setting priorities will force you into the step-by-step format above.
By doing the most important first and moving to the least important in succession, you are enabling each task to be easier than the last. It causes the accomplishment of each task to get easier and easier which will encourage you to complete your goal.

Hello www.hsmp-services.co.uk
Thanks for leaving your blog open to comments.
I always like to live a little "tidbit" of information, hopefully helpful and hopefully something that will make you think - and act.
This one is short and sweet, and I'll bet you haven't done (or done recently ), but after looking at your blog I'm pretty sure you will at least take some action, because you seem like a smart person.
Set New Goals.
Do you have any old ones written down? Have you set life goals?
Most people don't.
You will if you use some of the FREE information at Lifetime Goals
Have A Happy New Year!
I’m about to make you think.
It might be painful.
Have you done anything earth shattering lately?
Read anything that really sets your mind on fire with a passion to do good?
How about doing something important for yourself?
Have you?
Do you know without a doubt where you will be living a few years from now, what you will be doing?
Got a Plan?
Know how to get there?
You gotta have goals!
I enjoy blog surfing and when I find one that makes me think a bit I like to leave a little nuget behind that may help the writer.
What will you do with this “nugget”? Ignore it or use it…
Here’s yours;
Write Goals Down
This crystallizes your goals and gives them more force. In writing your goals down, you are better able to keep up with your scheduled tasks for each accomplishment. It also helps you to remember each task that needs to be done and allows you to check them off as they are accomplished.
Basically, you can better keep track of what you are doing so as not to repeat yourself unnecessarily.
Set lifetime goals. At least have an idea of what you want to accomplish with your life.
Keep the low-level goals you are working towards small and easy to achieve. If a goal is too large, then it can seem that you are not making progress towards it.
Keeping goals small and incremental allows you more opportunities for reward. Derive today's goals from larger ones. It is a great way to accomplish your goals.
Set Performance Goals, not outcome goals
You should take care to set goals over which you have as much control as possible. There is nothing more dispiriting than failing to achieve a personal goal for reasons that are beyond your control.
These could be bad business environments, poor judging, bad weather, injury, or just plain bad luck. If you base your goals on personal your performance, then you can keep control over the achievement of your goals and get satisfaction from achieving them.
Set Realistic Goals. It is important to set goals that you can achieve.
All sorts of people (parents, media, and society) can set unrealistic goals for you which is almost a guarantee of failure. They will often do this in ignorance of your own desires and ambitions or flat out disinterest.
Alternatively you may be naive in setting very high goals. You might not appreciate either the obstacles in the way, or understand quite how many skills you must master to achieve a particular level of performance.
By being realistic you are increasing your chances of success.
Do not set your goals to low.
Just as it is important not to set goals unrealistically high; do not set them too low.
People tend to do this where they are afraid of failure or where they simply don’t want to do anything.
You should set goals so that they are slightly out of your immediate grasp, but not so far that there is no hope of achieving them. No one will put serious effort into achieving a goal that they believe is unattainable.
However, remember that your belief that a goal is unrealistic may be incorrect. If this could be the case, you can to change this belief by using imagery effectively.
Good Luck and Happy Goal Setting!

Hi www.hsmp-services.co.uk
After reading a good blog I tend to analyze it to see what the person behind it might be like.
I've been in the goal setting business a while now and just like most people with experience in different areas of expertise, I can tell a lot about a person just by speaking to them or reading something they've written.
You haven't wrtten any goals on paper for awhile have you? And if you have I'll bet you haven't looked at them for a long time. Right?
Goal setting is hard work, and harder still if you don't have short range goals, mid range goals and long range goals.
I think you'll agree that few people really take the time to set goals of any kind.
When is the last time you really thought about setting some real goals, or are you like the vast majority of people who just "hope for the best"?
You already know successful people aren't "just lucky", they know how to set effective goals and reach them.
I was like that once, you might be also.
How about changing all that.
Come on over to goals+ and learn exactly how to set effective goals, act on them and be the real you.
There's a ton of FREE information and who knows, this little insert in your blog might well change your life!
Happy New Year!

Hi
I am planning to apply HSMP shortly. My query is, I have a long name because of which, in most of my documents like educational certificates, income tax forms etc, it is printed in different forms like abbreviated name, partial name and in documents like passport complete name has been printed. In this case how do I prove my Identity? In other words, how would I prove all these names belong to me?
Thanks

beyond positive thinking Positive thinking is a way of looking at the brighter side of life. Everything is good, beautiful, and light. There are no worries, problems, or fears. In short, all you see and believe in is, well, positive. I guess thats already the most suitable word in describing this way of thinking, which is why it is the term being used
self help speaker A motivational speaker is a professional speaker, facilitator or trainers who speaks to audiences, usually for a fee. The keynote speech generally takes place either at the beginning of the event, or the close of the event. The length of these speeches generally last 45 minutes to two hours in duration. In comparison, a workshop or seminar generally lasts three to 7 hours (or in some cases several days).

Hello,
I'm pursuing MBA in the UK and am planning to apply for HSMP in the due course. I'm from India and my last gross salary was about GBP 8700 per annum.
I read the revised guideline for HSMP points scheme and the footnote for the points awarded for previous earnings said: "Points for this attribute are calculated as follows: non-sterling currency is converted to Sterling; the Sterling figure is then converted
to points taking account of the relative difference in the level of earnings between countries."
According to me, this means that they will take into account that earnings in India for an equivalent position cannot match that in the UK. Am I correct? If yes, could you comment about any conversion formula?
